Fast sensitivity analysis of defective system

Sensitivity analysis of linear vibration system is of wide interest. In this paper, sensitivity analysis based on non-defective system and defective system is summarized in all cases. Specially, for the defective systems, a fast method for the perturbation problem of state vectors is constructed in terms of the theories of generalized eigenvectors and adjoint matrices. By this method, the state vector derivatives can be expressed by a linear combination of generalized eigenvectors. The expansion coefficients can be obtained without solving large-scale equations based on eigensolutions of original system. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness and the stability of the method.     

Intersections of apartments

We show that, if a building is endowed with its complete system of apartments, and if each panel is contained in at least four chambers, then the intersection of two apartments can be any convex subcomplex contained in an apartment. This combinatorial result is particularly interesting for lower-dimensional convex subcomplexes of apartments, where we definitely need the assumption on the four chambers per panel in the building. The corresponding statement is not true anymore for arbitrary systems of apartments, and counter-examples for infinite convex subcomplexes exist for any type of buildings. However, when we restrict to finite convex subcomplexes, the above remains true for arbitrary systems of apartments if and only if every finite subset of chambers of the standard Coxeter complex is contained in the convex hull of two chambers.     

Quandles derived from dynamical systems and subsets which are closed under quandle operations

A quandle is a set with a binary operation satisfying certain conditions related to Reidemeister moves in knot theory. First we give an example of a quandle with subsets which are not subquandles but closed under the quandle operation. We introduce a method to produce a quandle from an invertible dynamical system. Our example is generalized to such dynamical quandles.

导电环是平台式惯导系统惯性平台的重要组成部分,主要承担惯性平台台体内各种信号与系统的传输和交联,导电环发生故障直接会导致惯导系统失效。针对导电环三种故障模式:接触电阻变大、绝缘强度降低以及烧坏,本文采用微动磨损和电接触理论,结合作者的实际工作经验,对故障机理进行了分析,提出了相应的改进措施。这些措施均在生产中得到落实。落实措施后的故障统计表明,采取的改进措施有效,导电环的故障率与原来相比降低了38%。     

Hierarchical structure in polymer‐based drug delivery systems as probed by calorimetric measurements

Thermoporosimetry (TPM), a differential scanning calorimetry technique that relies on the shift of transition temperatures caused by the confinement of liquids, was applied to elucidate the complex morphology of drug‐loaded polymeric microcapsules prepared by the emulsion solvent evaporation method. For the very first time, TPM has been applied simultaneously with two liquids as structural probes. It was found that Miglyol, which dissolves the selected drug (Ibuprofen), is confined inside vesicles having a mean radius of 26.3 nm, whereas water, which is the continuous phase, is trapped inside a swollen polymeric network of Eudragit with an average mesh radius of 1.7 nm. A proposed hierarchical structure is given, which predicts that Eudragit microcapsules are formed from a collection of inert oil vesicles partitioned by polymeric Eudragit membranes swollen by water. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Stability and boundedness criteria of nonlinear impulsive systems employing perturbing Lyapunov functions

This paper develops a new comparison principle for nonlinear impulsive differential systems, then the stability, practical stability and boundedness of impulsive differential systems are proved by using the method of perturbing Lyapunov functions. The notion of perturbing Lyapunov functions enables us to discuss stability properties of impulsive systems under much weaker assumptions. The reported novel results complement the existing results. It may provide a greater prospect for solving problems which exhibit impulsive effects.     

Optical applications of quantum dots in biological system

This review presents a simple introduction on the unique properties and general synthesis of quantum dots (QDs) in which we lay emphasis on the optical applications in the biological system. The detection of biological molecules such as DNA, protein and enzyme, the cell-based analysis and in vivo animal imaging are mainly discussed.
